Chicken wing sales will soar during Super Bowl Sunday
Traditional or boneless.
Which type of chicken wing will you be eating as you watch the Baltimore Ravens vie the San Francisco 49ers for the Vince Lombardy trophy?
Super Bowl Sunday is the biggest day of the year for chicken wing sales, according to a number of restaurant owners that I interviewed for an article that will appear in Sunday’s business section.
One of them, John Smith of Wings & More Sports Bar on U.S. 17, said that he prefers boneless wings, which are actually part of the chicken breast, because you get more meat for the money.
He’s not alone. GuestMetrics found that sales of traditional wings are being outpaced by sales of the boneless version. They accounted for about 14 percent of wing sales in 2012.
So which do you prefer? Please take this poll and let me know.
