Ruby Tuesday to emphasis affordability says new CEO
Why did Ruby Tuesday Inc. shut down its 13 Marlin & Ray’s restaurants, including the one in Stafford County, less than a year after they opened?
CEO James J. “JJ” Buettgen, who took over the company’s helm on Dec. 1, said in an interview in today’s edition of the trade publication National Restaurant News, that he wants to focus on attracting more customers and increasing sales at Ruby Tuesday restaurants.
Buettgen told reporter Erin Dostal that plans for a “strategic change” for the chain are still in the early stages, but will emphasize “affordability and approachability.”
“You may see a menu that’s got a wider range of price points and foods that are less center-of-the-plate, entrée-driven,” he said. “You’ll see more sandwiches and salads fitting a broader range of occasions.”
