Today is last day to register for HUBZone workshop

Interested in becoming a HUBZone business in the city of Fredericksburg?

Today is the last day to register for a Dec. 11 workshop on how to get certified as a HUBZone business and gain an edge in getting federal contracts. It will be held from 8 to 9:30 a.m. in The Free Lance-Star’s community meeting room at 616 Amelia St.

The HUBZone program helps small businesses in urban and rural communities gain access to federal procurement opportunities.  It’s one of several government contracting programs administered by the SBA to help small businesses grow and create jobs.

Next week’s workshop will cover ways to keep up with federal bidding opportunities, teaming and subcontracting; federal procurement and contractor registration assistance; business Assistance and incentives offered by the city; an a chance to meet new HUBZone business owners.

There also will be time for questions and answers.
