CHEAP DATES: The Parlor Soldiers, Mozart, Spring Forward Festival
FOLLOW THE BEAT:
Local folk duo The Parlor Soldiers plays a free show at Horseshoes & Hand Grenades in downtown Fredericksburg around noon Saturday. Listen to some tunes as you browse this unique clothing store. They’re next up Wednesday at the Courtyard Marriott, with a big show on April 20 at the Kenmore Inn. Check out their songs at theparlorsoldiers.bandcamp.com.
MAKE SOME TIME FOR MOZART:
St. Matthew Catholic Church (8200 Robert Lee Drive, Spotsylvania) presents Mozart Requiem at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. The performance, presented by the St. Matthew Family Choir and Joysong Chorale, is free. 540/ 582-5575.
ON THE HUNT:
This Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. is the Spring Forward Festival at Brompton House, University of Mary Washington. Enjoy crafts, games, food and egg hunts. The event is sponsored by UMW Community Outreach and Resources. Admission is free; no registration required. 540/654-1802.
