Possible severe weather today

In yesterday’s blogpost I noted that a strong cold front pushing through the area today could fire up some storms.  The Storm Prediction Center has issued a convective outlook this morning that shows a small possibility (5%) of storms with severe winds (>58 mph) today in the Fredericksburg vicinity:

Storms look like they’ll arrive later this afternoon along either a pre-frontal trough or along the cold front itself, which is now draped across the middle of Ohio and Indiana.  It would be prudent to pay attention to weather alerts (weather radio, emergency messaging, etc) any time after noon today.

Heads up!
