Heads up for Sunday night into Monday morning

FORECAST: Winter Weather Advisory issued

This serves as a quick heads up regarding ice potential for tonight (Sunday) and Monday morning.  Here is the the NWS Sterling forecast graphic that indicates a widespread area of potential ice accumulation:

Note that these totals aren’t very much, but it doesn’t take much ice to render roads and sidewalks treacherously slick.

Here is a current watches and warnings graphic from the National Weather Service covering a good chunk of Virginia:

The purple shades represent a winter weather advisory and the pink hue shows a freezing rain advisory.  Please be careful tonight and tomorrow morning.
