Cold air damming is the first nemesis

Check out the visible satellite view from 8:32 a.m.:  That wedge of clouds over Fredericksburg and vicinity is courtesy of an easterly flow off the Atlantic that has created a low level pool of moisture.   This looks like it will erode later today (Thursday) and the ‘Burg will see sunshine, but tonight the same thing will happen except that the clouds may not burn off at all tomorrow.

What about the weekend, the colder air, and Hurricane Sandy?  Even the National Weather Service is still pondering what may happen over the next few days.  Suffice it to say next week will be MUCH colder than this week.  For other details stay tuned.
