The weekend!!

UPDATE 3:30 pm Friday:  Altho’ the parenthetical statement near the end of this post is still true (regarding the fact that the ‘Burg won’t see a Freeze watch or warning anytime soon) the NWS Sterling forecast office has thrown us a curve for Saturday morning by issuing a Frost Advisory, meaning frost is possible by dawn.  That may happen in open areas away from buildings and out from under trees but I doubt there will be any widespread frost coverage in the ‘Burg.  The temperature and dew points are both forecast to stay above 32 degrees (F) in the immediate vicinity of the city and the winds may not totally go to calm at the surface to allow frost to form.  Having said that… those readers who live west of the I-95 corridor in rural areas may need to heed this advisory.

Beautiful weather continues through Sunday, with temperatures by then rising into the low to mid-70′s ahead of the next frontal system.  Meanwhile, check out this morning’s graphic from the Sterling NWS office:

Remember the post a couple of days ago showing freeze watches and warnings in the mountains?  The dark blue shades here are for a Freeze Watch in the indicated counties for Saturday morning.  They’re creeping closer to the ‘Burg…!!  (But we won’t see a general freeze watch or warning for at least a week or so.)

Have a great weekend!!
