Midweek check

There are no significant weather events on the nearby horizon for the ‘Burg, but this graphic from the NWS Sterling forecast office shows some results of the cooler temperature regime we are experiencing.

The light blue shades in western VA and eastern West VA are for freeze warnings overnight tonight (Wednesday) while the darkest blue shade in West VA indicates a freeze watch.  When these colors march eastward and settle over the Fredericksburg area it will be time to protect those tender plants outside, but that won’t happen this week.

So for now enjoy the sunshine and autumn temperatures as a cold front swings through later today.  Winds will shift around to the northwest this afternoon and gust up to 20 mph after dark, but this event will be a dry one with perhaps a few accompanying clouds.
