Short Thursday morning update
A more detailed look at the weekend weather will come in tomorrow’s (Friday’s) blogpost but a quick update is apropos this morning. Short range models indicate a chance at showers and storms east of the mountains this evening near sunset. According to the Storm Prediction Center a couple of these storms could produce some strong winds and hail, but the instability doesn’t look all that impressive this afternoon so I don’t think the ‘Burg will need to be concerned.
Daily high temperatures for today and Friday will climb into the low 80′s (F) as the surface front waggles back northwestward due to a developing low pressure system in western Virginia. Right now this front looks like it could clear the coast earlier than expected, which would provide some sunnier conditions over the weekend than originally forecast. But that’s for tomorrow’s post…because I expect a few more changes in the model forecasts between now and then. (Really?)
