Quick note on Saturday storm potential

The Storm Prediction Center has moved today’s Slight Risk for severe weather eastward, but as this graphic shows the area still grazes the ‘Burg:

I still think today’s potential is more of a scattered variety than widespread storminess, but it would be wise to keep an eye to the sky later this afternoon between 4:00 and 6:00 pm.  The short term models seem to indicate a broken line of showers and storms will cross the I-95 corridor of Virginia during that timeframe.

Otherwise the biggest weather news for this weekend is the cool air behind the approaching front.  Tomorrow’s high temperature will struggle to reach the low 70′s (F) under blue skies and breezy north winds.
