Quiet weather and an opportunity to visit the NWS Sterling office
Given our beautiful and tranquil weather at the moment – no storms, no approaching hurricanes, no clouds(!) – let me take a moment to plug the Open House at the National Weather Service Office in Sterling VA. For those who would like to know more about how our government forecasters operate this is a great opportunity to do so. There will be many activities and talks that include topics like the June 2012 derecho, a recipe for snow, careers in meteorology, and Skywarn training classes. Check it out!
