River crest estimate revised downward

The National Weather Service now says the Rappahannock River will crest early Saturday morning at about 19.7 feet at City Dock in Fredericksburg. That’s down from an earlier estimate this morning of about 21 feet. Flood stage is 18 feet.

This is the second time this month the river has swelled past flood stage at the dock, due to heavy rains. On May 1, it crested at about 22.7 feet following several days of rain. Check river levels here.
