A cool time for teens to snag a summer job outdoors
The Virginia State Parks Youth Conservation Corps is looking for a few good high school students—14 to 17—to work on projects at state parks during two three-week sessions this summer, according to a press release. Applicants, it says, must have an interest in protecting Virginia’s environment, along with “a positive attitude, an interest in learning, curiosity about interpreting nature, and the physical ability and desire to work outdoors…” You get the idea. YCC provides room and board, T-shirts and equipment, along with a $500 stipend at the end of the three weeks. Sessions are June 22 to July 12 and July 20 to Aug. 9. Applications accepted through April. Click here for details, call 703-583 5497 or e-mail email@example.com.
