More from Culpeper about the rain
In my story today on all the rain we got last week, I reported that the Fredericksburg area was still about three inches behind what’s normal by this time in October. I noted that other areas got more than the roughly 2.5 inches the storms dropped here. My colleague, Donnie Johnston, who has a weather station at his place in Culpeper, reports 52.35 inches to date–nearly 10 inches above the yearly norm of about 43 inches. Says Donnie, “Farther north in the county they have had even more, so not all of the area is below average. We got 5.25 last week and they got over 6 inches at Eggbornsville.”
