River friends need a truck
Friends of the Rappahannock needs your help, or rather, your truck. One of the river-protection group’s newest programs–Rainscape Retrofits–is growing, the agency says, and the Ford F-150 truck it has been using is on its last legs. (That truck was donated several years ago by Colony Pest Control.) The program helps homeowners install rain gardens that reduce the amount of polluted runoff going into the river. Here’s the pitch:
“Do you or your business have a depreciated F-150, F-250 (preferred) or similar [vehicle], that you could donate to help us keep this worthwhile program in action? We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit, and will provide the necessary paperwork for a tax deduction. If you can help, please contact John Tippett, FOR Executive Director, at 540-373-3448 x111 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The River Thanks You!
