Hemorrhagic disease hits area deer herds
A couple weeks ago, I got a note from Lou Cordero, an avid hunter, freelance photographer and friend, who was passing along anecdotal reports of dwindled white-tailed deer herds in the region, and dead deer being found in the woods. It appears that there’s been another sizeable outbreak of epizootic hemorrhagic disease in the region. For the latest, read Free Lance-Star Outdoor columnist Ken Perrotte’s story, which appears in today’s Sports section.
