Charles G. McDaniel, who heads up an informal committee that is pushing the idea for a portion of the silt-clogged waterway, will make a presentation on the issue at tonight’s City Council meeting, which starts at 7:30. McDaniel, a local businessman who lives on the river, summarizes the committee’s concerns and proposals in this August letter to City Manager Beverly Cameron. Some members of the committee and several council members got a first-hand look at the issue in a canoe outing last month. Read my most recent story here. Since the Embrey Dam was breached in 2004, sediment has been piling up, particularly between the Falmouth Bridge and City Dock.
