FOR gets its own river boat
It wasn’t a bottle of champagne, but rather, a bottle of water from Chester Gap, headwaters of the Rappahannock River in Rappahannock County that was used to christen Friends of the Rappahannock’s new boat. The 21-foot Carolina Skiff got a ceremonial send-off at City Dock this morning, with members of FOR and the Rappahannock Rotary Club looking on. The club was the major contributor toward the purchase of the boat to be used by Richard Moncure Jr. Moncure is FOR’s steward of the tidal portion of the river. Read more in my story tomorrow.
