New ride for river steward
There probably hasn’t been a boat christening at City Dock for awhile. That’s changing tomorrow morning (7 a.m.) when Friends of the Rappahannock and members of the Rappahannock Rotary gather to christen a $15,000 boat the Rotary purchased to help steward Richard Moncure Jr., who works on the tidal portion of the river, do his job. The boat will be used for water quality analysis and educational outreach. Water collected from the Rappahannock headwaters will be poured over the bow.
