Fort A.P. Hill among national preservation award winners
The Caroline County Army base is getting an award today from the National Trust for Historic Preservation for its ongoing conservation efforts. As part of its annual awards program the trust will present its National Trust/Advisory Council on Historic Preservation Award for Federal Partnerships in Historic Preservation to the Fort A.P. Hill/Camden Innovative Preservation Project. Co-recipients are: The Conservation Fund, the Rappahannock Tribe of Virginia, and the Virginia Department of Historic Resources/Virginia State Historic Preservation Office. Lt. Col. John Haefner, the base commander will accept the award this evening at the awards ceremony in Buffalo. Look for more details in a story tomorrow.
