Testing….testing at North Anna

If you hear sirens around the North Anna Power Station this week, don’t panic. The early warning sirens are being tested through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The sirens sound for three minutes during the tests. If there were an emergency, residents would hear four separate, three minute activations, each separated by a minute of silence, over 15 minutes. Residents should tune to a  local radio or TV broacast for more information. The early warning sirens are located wtihin a 10-mile protection zone around the plant on Lake Anna.
