More on Motts Run
In a recent post , I mentioned that Motts Run landing in Spotsylvania had been paved. That was after a few calls from people concerned that the improvements at the popular canoe and kayak put-in would allow more runoff into the Rappahannock than the longtime dirt and gravel lot. Earlier today, I talked to Larry Hart, director of infrastructure for the Virginia Depatment of Game and Inland Fisheries. Hart says the lot was paved to improve access and to make maintenance easier. He said the pavement is crowned to divert runoff away from the river. See my story tomorrow for more details.
