North Anna permit appeal granted

An environmental group has won the latest round in a court battle over a disputed water permit at  North Anna Power Station. The Virginia Supreme Court earlier this week agreed to hear the Blue Ridge Environmental Defense League’s appeal of a decision by the Virginia Court of Appeals in July  upholding the renewal of a 2007 state water-control permit at the Louisa County plant on Lake Anna.  A Richmond Circuit Court judge ruled in favor of the league in February 2009.  A spokesman for Dominion Virginia Power, owner of the nuclear power plant on Lake Anna,  said the company was still reviewing the decision and had no comment.  See my previous story .
