Weigh in on watershed plan
The last in a series of public hearings on Fredericskburg’s proposed Watershed Property Management Plan is tonight, before the City Council. The meeting starts at 7:30 in the council chambers at 715 Princess Anne St. In the works for nearly two years, the plan governs access and recreation activities on over 4,200 acres along the Rappahannock and Rapidan rivers. Horseback riders, trappers and gold miners are among those who’d like to have access to the property. And the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, one of the easement holders, has asked for more public acess points. The council is expected to take final action at its Dec. 14 meeting. View the recommendation and plan here.
