River land use
Any thoughts about what should be allowed on Fredericksburg’s riverfront property? You can weigh in on a draft watershed property management plan tomorrow night. It’s on the Planning Commission’s agenda, starting at 7:30 p.m. in Council chambers, at 715 Princess Anne St. The plan will control the use of over 4,200 acres Fredericksburg owns along the Rappahannock and Rapidan rivers. Trappers, gold miners, hunters, campers, paddlers, horseback riders are among groups that use, or want to use, the property, which runs nearly 25 miles upstream from the city. Read my story from the commission’s first public hearing last month.
