Collect sea grass
The Nature Conservancy is looking for 120 volunteers to collect sea grasses in tidal marshes on Virginia’s Eastern Shore as part of a major restoration effort. The good part–along with helping bring back the grasses, which shelter baby crabs, fish and shellfish–is that you’ll be snorkeling. It’s from May 23–June 16. Boats leave from Oyster, Va., in the morning each day and return in the afternoon. For more details, contact Jennifer Rich of The Nature Conservancy at (434) 951-0572 by May 20, or email jrich@tnc.org
