Checking the Rappahannock
When the river is high and brown, there’s a good tool to check just how high it is. The city’s high-tech gauge on the Blue and Gray Parkway Bridge records the level (in feet), just downstream from City Dock, and rainfall. The data go to the National Weather Service flood-warning system. View the gauge site here.
