Water outage, road closure to affect UMW

According to a notification sent out by University of Mary Washington CFO Rick Pearce, a water outage and a road closure will affect the Fredericksburg campus during the next couple of weeks.

Beginning Thursday, July 3 the water outage will affect Woodard Hall, Mercer Hall, Willard Hall, Virginia Hall, Seacobeck Hall, Monroe Hall, Lee Hall, Trinkle Hall, the new Campus Center, Ball Hall, Custis Hall and Madison Hall. Crews will cut off the water to relocate water and steam lines at Woodard Hall, which is currently being remodeled.

The outage will be in effect from 5 p.m. Thursday to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3.

Then, from Monday, Aug. 4 through Friday, Aug. 15 there will be construction work that will close the access road to the Lee Hall loading dock. This work includes storm water improvement projects. Pearce said no parking will be allowed there during construction and deliveries will be accommodated, but will require a 48-hour notice.
