More than 250 University of Mary Washington students are expected to descend onto College Heights Saturday, March 29, to help out residents for the school’s second annual “Good Neighbor Day” in Fredericksburg.

During the event, students will help College Heights residents with outdoor projects such as raking, garage organizing, deck cleaning and other light yard work to encourage a positive relationship between the university and the surrounding neighborhood, said Chelsea Kopf with the UMW Student Government Association.

The students will be easy to spot during the event if you need a hand; they’ll all be wearing “Good Neighbor Day” T-shirts. Check out this video to see what the UMW students did last year.

Local residents can request work they would like to be completed. To do so, call the UMW Student Activity and Engagement office at (540) 654-1444.
