The University of Mary Washington Board of Visitors voted unanimously Friday morning to install Holly Cuellar as its rector and Joe Grzeika as its vice rector.

According to the BOV website, Cuellar is a 1989 UMW alumna and a political consultant who served Virginia’s attorney general as deputy scheduler and as the Hampton Roads community outreach coordinator.

She previously worked on the City of Virginia Beach’s gang task force, was a regional manager for the Keeping Virginia Safe and Strong programs and developed programs to promote Internet safety and senior advocacy. Cuellar has also worked as legislative aide for Governor Bob McDonnell.

Her term, which began in 2010, lasts through 2014.

Grzeika is a business consultant with Arlington-based Strategic Insight and is president of Joetech LLC of King George.  He is also a member of the King George Board of Supervisors and is on the board of directors for Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Military Affairs Council, the Fredericksburg Regional Alliance and the Rappahannock United Way. Grzeika graduated in the UMW Class of 1983.

His current term began in 2011 and lasts through 2015.

The BOV also welcomed three new members to the board Friday.
