Program proposals sought for UMW Black History Month celebration

The James Farmer Multicultural Center is currently accepting program proposals for their Black History Month celebration in February 2014, according to a University of Mary Washington newsletter.

The 2014 Black History Month theme is “With Our Minds Set on Freedom:  Advancing Justice, Realizing the Dream.”

“Programs and events that relate to the theme are encouraged, however any programs or events that examine the experiences and contributions of Americans of African descent are welcome,” said the announcement.

The proposal forms are due on Friday, Nov.15 by 5 p.m. Access the form at the James Farmer Multicultural Center’s website or contact Greta Franklin
