The University of Mary Washington will hold its 2013 commencement ceremonies on Friday and Saturday.

Dr. William “Bill” Cleveland Bosher Jr., public policy expert and former Virginia superintendent of education, will deliver the graduate address at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 10, in the William M. Anderson Center.

Family and guests are welcome and tickets are not required for this event.

Steve Pemberton, business executive, motivational speaker and noted author, will be the guest speaker at the undergraduate ceremony on Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. on Ball Circle.

Tickets are not given for this event. Family and guest seating is first-come, first-serve.  Undergraduate commencement is an outdoor event and the ceremony will be held rain or shine.

Parking for UMW commencement ceremonies is provided in the UMW parking deck, off U.S. 1, and lots along Sunken Road.

Vehicles displaying handicap license plates or handicap parking permits issued by any state’s department of motor vehicles will be permitted to park in the lot behind George Washington Hall.

For those who have difficulty walking but do not have a state-issued handicap parking pass, there is a drop-off point at Lee Circle.  The driver must then park elsewhere and rejoin their party in Ball Circle.
