There are going to be daytime closures on a section of Lansdowne Road over a several-day stretch next week, VDOT logoaccording to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

The road will be closed between Chapman Drive and Teton Drive from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.

A detour route will be posted. It will run from Route 2 to Benchmark Road and then Mine Road, which connects to Lansdowne.

Crews will be replacing wire baskets filled with stone that line drainage ditches along Lansdowne, according to VDOT, which said the baskets were installed in 2011 to “support the road’s slope, prevent erosion, and improve roadway drainage.”
