Driver of truck that hit rail overpass charged
The driver of the truck that rammed into the railroad overpass on Harrell Road in Stafford on Monday has been charged with reckless driving.
Lawrence Braxton Jr., a 44-year-old Richmond resident, also was charged with hitting the bridge.
His truck hit the overpass at about 11:30 a.m. Monday and became stuck, according to spokesman Bill Kennedy with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office. There were no injuries in the crash.
The road was closed for several hours while crews removed the vehicle.
The popular cut-through road in Falmouth open in the afternoon.
