Street closed for Falmouth intersection work
UPDATE: The closure of the section of Carter Street has been extended again, VDOT said today. The street will be closed until June 13 (next Friday) while crews continue to do sewer line relocation work.
UPDATE: The section of Carter Street will remain closed until Thursday evening while crews continue sewer line work as part of the Falmouth intersection project.
Also, between 9 p.m. Thursday and 6 a.m. Friday, there will be a single-lane closure on northbound U.S. 1 at Carter Street.
A section of a side street at the Falmouth intersection will be closed until 6 p.m. today as part of the intersection project.
Carter Street is closed from U.S. 1 to Gordon Street so crews can work on the sewer lines.
The $22.4-million project will add turn lanes to the Stafford intersection. Work is expected to be complete by September 2015.
