Orange County man dies in motorcycle crash
A 59-year-old man died Sunday evening after his Harley-Davidson motorcycle ran off an Orange County Road, according to the Virginia State Police.
The crash happened at 7:40 p.m. on Governor Almond Road, less than a mile from Zoar Road, Sgt. Les Tyler said.
David John Robinson, of Locust Grove, was headed north when he rounded a left turn and ran off the right side of the road, Tyler said. The force of the crash threw Robinson from the motorcycle. He was wearing a helmet.
Robinson died at the scene.
Tyler clarified Monday evening that while the motorcycle was not speeding, he believed it was going too fast for that stretch of road.
Trooper F.W. Stanley is investigating the crash.
