Traffic around the Fredericksburg area could be congested this morning because of a multi-vehicle crash on northbound Interstate 95 near the Central Park exit in Spotsylvania.
The left and center lanes are closed. The interstate in that area is at a standstill As of 7:57 a.m., the Virginia Department of Transportation was reporting two mile backups.
UPDATE: At 8:45 a.m., the left lane of I-95 south was blocked due to another auto accident.
UPDATE: The lanes in the area of the crash on northbound I-95 near the Central Park exit have been cleared and traffic seems to have cleared up, too.
UPDATE: One person was charged with reckless driving in this morning’s crash, according to the Virginia State Police. Sgt. Les Tyler said a Toyota moved from the left lane and hit a Honda in the center lane, causing the second vehicle to overturn in that lane. There were no injuries in the crash, he said. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts, which Tyler said helped those in the crash avoid injuries.
The crash happened at about 7:30 a.m. and was cleared in about an hour.
