Spotsylvania woman dies in crash
UPDATE: The driver has been identified as Samantha Kemmerer, who was a bartender at Texas Roadhouse on State Route 3 and had an 11-month-old son, according to a coworker.
A 26-year-old Spotsylvania County woman died early Wednesday morning in a single-vehicle crash, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The crash happened at about 2:35 a.m., according to Capt. Jeff Pearce.
The vehicle was headed south on Orange Plank Road, near Winewood Road, when it ran off the right shoulder and the driver overcorrected, sending the vehicle off the left side of the road. The vehicle flipped over and slammed into a tree.
Neither alcohol nor speed appears to be a factor in the crash, Pearce said. The driver was wearing a seat belt.
The woman’s name won’t be released until the family has been notified, he said.
