Work closes lanes on Harry Nice Bridge

MORE: See all local transportation news

Expect delays on the Harry Nice bridge through Thursday afternoon as crews are working on the structure that spans the Potomac River from King George to Maryland.

There will be alternating closures in each direction, and trucks wider than 10 feet will not be permitted to use the bridge, except by escort, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation. Those driving vehicles exceeding 10 feet must call ahead (301/259-4444) in order to use the bridge.

The work was scheduled to be done from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
