Fredericksburg man charged in fatal crash
The Virginia State Police have charged a Fredericksburg man involved in a deadly crash that happened Friday on Interstate 95.
Greg S. Hall faces charges of reckless driving and driving on a revoked license, something that the 24-year-old has been convicted of three times, according to Virginia State Police.
Hall and his mother, 53-year-old Lesa Hall, were flown to Inova Fairfax Hospital with serious injuries.
Matthew Wilkerson, a 37-year-old Fredericksburg resident, died at the scene of the crash.
The crash happened at about 11:15 a.m. on southbound Interstate 95 in Dumfries, near exit 152, according to the state police.
A Nissan Versa, driven by Hall, was headed south when it ran off the left side of the interstate and hit a jersey wall barrier, according to state police. The car then went airborne and landed upside down on top of Wilkerson’s southbound Honda Civic.
The investigation continues, said state police spokeswoman Corinne Geller.
