Paving and bridge inspections set this week

MORE: See all local transportation news

There’s a lot of rain expected this week, so there might not be much road work getting done, but there plenty is planned nonetheless.

In Stafford, watch for delays on Interstate 95 and on U.S. 17; crews will be inspecting the U.S. 17 bridge. Bridge inspections also will cause delays on Cool Springs Road and White Oak Road. Inspections of gas lines will close interstate lanes at the Aquia/Garrisonville exit. Also this week, work is set to begin on a project that has been scheduled and postponed several times. On Friday, crews are scheduled to pave Staffordboro Boulevard as part of the commuter lot expansion work. That work is expected to close Staffordboro over the weekend.

In Spotsylvania, crews will be paving numerous secondary roads and streets in the Battlefield Green neighborhood.

In Caroline, paving work continues on I-95.

For a full list of road work see VDOT’s Hot Spots and Megaprojects’ I-95 express lanes report below.
