Work to temporarily close North Stafford road next week
Sewer line work will shut down a North Stafford road for several days next week.
Telegraph Road is set to be closed, between U.S. 1 and Route 639 (Woodstock Lane), Monday through Wednesday so crews can install a sewer line, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation. The road is slated to be closed at 7 a.m. Monday. It should open again at about 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Telegraph Road has two intersections with U.S. 1. The section of Telegraph that will be closed is at the southern intersection, near Aquia Creek.
Traffic will need to use Woodstock Lane to get to U.S. 1.
The sewer line work is part of a project to replace the 88-year-old U.S. 1 bridge over Aquia Creek.
The $5.5-million project started in December 2012 and is scheduled to be completed in August 2015.
