Westmoreland bridge set to open
A Westmoreland County bridge closed since November for a rehab project is scheduled to open in early March.
The Tides Mill Stream bridge on Route 205 is set to open on March 8, a week later than originally planned. Crews had to wait for beams to arrive. They have since been installed.
The bridge, built in 1933, underwent $3.7-million worth of work on its superstructure and substructure, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
Traffic has been using Longfield Road as a detour, but that should end on March 8.
Crews will be doing paving work on the bridge next week and that will lead to some lane closures. Work is expected to be completely done by March 15.
