The Fredericksburg Area Metropolitan Planning Organization will hold a public information meeting Thursday on a plan that will help determine the future of transportation in the region.
The meeting will provide details on the 2040 Long Range plan, which focuses on a range of transportation modes, not the least of which are roads.
The meeting will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be a brief presentation at the start of the meeting. Otherwise, brochures and placards will be available for viewing.
The FAMPO office is at 406 Princess Anne Street in Fredericksburg.
According to FAMPO, the long-range plane “includes anticipated improvements and details transportation projects for all modes of travel over the next 20-30 years, including streets and highways, public transportation/transit, railroad, freight, aviation and bicycle and pedestrian needs that are regionally significant providing a vision of how the transportation network will function in the future.”
FAMPO covers Fredericksburg and the counties of Stafford and Spotsylvania.
The long-range plan details are available at the FAMPO office, local libraries and online.
Anyone interested in the plan can comment on it through March 18.
