Roads flooded in Culpeper; wind restrictions on Harry Nice
UPDATE: As of 11:24 a.m., VDOT is reporting that River Road in Stafford has standing water.
Flooding from last night’s heavy rains has impacted roads in the region, including in Culpeper, Orange and Fauquier counties. There also are wind restrictions in place at the Harry Nice Bridge in King George.
According to the Virginia Department of Transportation’s incident reports, as of about 8:30 a.m., numerous roads in Culpeper are impassible. A few roads are reported flooded in Orange and Fauquier.
VDOT also has issued restrictions on certain vehicles on the U.S. 301 bridge:
House trailers, empty box trailers, and any vehicle that law-enforcement personnel determines may not safely cross the bridge, will be prohibited from traveling the bridge …
Wind gusts are expected to near 40 mph today in King George, according to the National Weather Service, which calls for it to be a windy day throughout the area.
