I-95 crash causing delays near exit 130
UPDATE: As of 7:18 p.m., the accident has been cleared, according to VDOT.
UPDATE: As of 5:15 p.m. northbound Interstate 95 traffic is still crawling along, due to the crash involving a tractor-trailer near the exit 130 at Route 3. VDOT is still reporting the left lane closed at the crash scene.
Speaking of tractor-trailer crashes, there have been at least two others in the area, according to VDOT 511: one recently happened on southbound I-95 in Caroline, at mile marker 104. The southbound exit ramp is closed. Another big rig crashed in the A.P. Hill area of Caroline earlier today. It’s apparently still causing delays on U.S. 301.
Anyone heading north on Interstate 95 can expect delays in the area of exit 130 at State Route 3.
A crash involving a tractor-trailer and one other car happened shortly after 2 p.m. The right lane and both shoulders were closed after the crash. A person in the car was trapped, but eventually removed and taken to Mary Washington Hospital.
The tractor-trailer jackknifed and ended up on the shoulder, leaking fuel. Emergency responders have cleaned the spill. The driver of the truck also was taken to the hospital.
As of about 3:25 p.m., only the left shoulder remained closed.
Just shortly after 3 p.m., the Virginia Department of Transportation’s 511 video showed traffic crawling south of the crash.
