Hearing to be held tonight on Brooke Road project
Stafford County will hold a public hearing tonight on a project aimed at straightening and widening a stretch of Brooke Road.
The meeting will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at Grafton Elementary School.

The plans call for straightening the windy stretch of rural road. It also will widen the lanes to 11 feet and shoulders to six feet, according to county documents.
The project also is aimed at improving storm-water drainage and site distance.
The stretch of road carries 2,100 vehicles a day, according to the 2010 traffic counts.
The estimated $6.5-million project could get underway by spring 2014.
