Santa train tickets sale date set

The date for the sale of Santa train tickets has been announced.

It’s Nov. 26, and the tickets will be available online and at vendor sites, according to the Virginia Railway Express.

The sale starts at 9 a.m.

The tickets sell out fast—last year, the online tickets were all gone in 12 minutes.

A total of 7,500 tickets were sold last year.

The Santa train will run on Saturday, Dec. 8, out of four stations.

There is one change this year.

Instead of picking up riders at the Fredericksburg station, the Santa train will stop at the Leeland Road station in Stafford. The change was made because of expected crowds for the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Fredericksburg.

The other stations are at Burke Centre, Manassas and Woodbridge.

Kids who ride the train will get to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Each station will also serve as a Toys for Tots drop-off spot.

The event also promotes Operation Lifesaver, a train safety program.
