Postponed transportation improvement program meeting set

The postponed local public meeting on the state’s transportation Six-Year Improvement Program will be held in early December.

The original meeting was postponed because of Hurricane Sandy.

The new meeting will be held at Massaponax High School on Dec. 3. It will start at 6 p.m.

There will be an open house session where transportation officials, including members of the Commonwealth Transportation Board, will be available along with information on area projects.

Details on the current 2013-2018 SYIP will be available. Comments will also be taken on the 2014-2019 plan, a draft of which will be released in the spring.

The SYIP includes hundreds of millions in funding for current and potential transportation projects statewide and in the 14-county Fredericksburg district.
